
The ATS truck driving program is designed to teach an individual the fundamentals of tractor trailer driving and to prepare the student for the Class-A Commercial Driver License (CDL) road test. This program also prepares the individual for entry level employment in the trucking industry as a tractor trailer driver. The ATS family of schools has been teaching truck driving for over forty five years. ATS truck graduates find employment in all types of truck driving jobs such as equipment transporting, dump trucks/trailers, sand and gravel, paving, concrete/asphalt, mining, freight haulers, construction materials, tankers, etc..
The ATS truck driving program consists of classroom instruction in subjects such as Department of Transportation rules, safety and safe operation of equipment, Commercial Driver License regulations, logbooks, and hazardous materials.
"Hands-on" instruction in the equipment includes backing and other close quarter maneuvers as well as pre-trip inspection, coupling and uncoupling and actual Highway and City driving. These classes run full time 3 weeks Monday through Friday.
